which reminds me: is that a useful look for everyone? It could probably
be improved to show threads on a daily basis too (like the gcc list, http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc/2000-05/).

well, Progsoc is using ht://dig -- it isn't perfect but it is the best free
one out there (swish and friends aren't free).
