In RedHat 6.2 they have simplified installing True Type fonts..
(Unfortunately they didn't document it.)..

However, here is how it's done..

As user "root"..

mkdir /usr/share/fonts/default/TrueType
put all your True Type fonts in that directory.
Restart xfs, and then restart X.

So easy. Pity they didn't tell anyone.
