[SLUG] Procmail woes

Seeing as the Slug list is expanding, I thought it's about time I set up procmail to sort the mail into neat piles.
I read the man pages. I printed them and reread them.
I found NancyM's intro, and the latest css revised version, up to date.
Looked at Stephen van den Berg's advice. Printed it out. Read it again.
Likewise for a number of other bits of advice which I got to via the procmail.org links. There's a stack of them.

Procmail will not work for me, other than devouring my mail. Spent a day learning the finer points of the 'find' command. Can't find where the lost mail is locked away.

I'm running the standard RH6.0. Bash shell. Pine. Fetchmail.

I've changed the .procmailrc .forward .procmail/rc.test etc every which way depending on the tutorial I'm reading.

Has anyone else got it working OK. There seems to be a number of variations on the .forward line. I've used them all.

I'd appreciate any help given.

Thanks, Nick
