[SLUG] Just another reason to use anything but Evilware

'Doze users: be afraid, be very afraid:

http://peacefire.org/censorware/I-Gear/igdecode/

The above example of personal privacy invasion by
3rd party 'doze software is frightening. The only reason
the incursion was discovered was due to reverse engineering,
which might become illegal in the USA soon. The privacy
violation apparently occurred on an an unbashedly
unencrypted socket and was easily detected.

All hail open source and full accountability and credibility
at the level that really counts: the source!

Speculation:

Evilware 2000 and accomplises will soon be moving beyond techniques
like the one above, to piggy-backing and diverting encrypted TCP
connections (since THEY control the socket stacks).

B-ware. B-very-ware.
