It should be okay, CPU wise. RAM wise depends on traffic I guess.
I'm talking packet filtering stuff, no squid or any other fancy stuff.
I actually have 36Mb in mine, because that was what I had to hand and
the max that would fit. (4Mb on board & 2x16Mb 30 pin simms).
You really need 16550's serial ports for best performance. If your ISP
really providing 56K, or just 33.6K. 33.6K will run on 16450 (?). It
really depends on whole system load. Try the basic stuff and see how
it runs. (Yes, I did put a 16550 card in because I had one to hand).
If your problem is 8Mb is all that will fit on the motherboard and it
turns out not to be enough, let me know and I can pass on some with a
couple of 72 pin slots.
