On the intranet here we are generally using .pdf for released drawings,
circuit schematics etc  because we have a history of too many different
types of software used to generate the schematics, and it has to be read by
all sorts of Win-PC based people round the world. Also the stuff placed on
the intranet can't be copied and modified easily by other departments
without getting a legitimate project account etc (whereupon they would get
the source to modify).
