Thanks Terry, actually that reminds me .. I run a program (such as xmms or 
licq) from gnome-terminal or similar with the & extension, for example "licq 
&" and then when i'm finished using the term i'd like to close it but the 
programs i've executed from it close with it .. how can I prevent this from 
happening ?
