Re: [SLUG] Scsi CD rom gone missing

Thanks for the replies so far, but no cigars yet!

  # cat /proc/scsi/scsi
  Attached devices:
  Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: WDIGTL Model: ENTERPRISE Rev: 1.91
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
  Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00
Vendor: SEAGATE Model: ST39175LC Rev: 0359
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
  Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 08 Lun: 00
Vendor: SDR Model: GEM200 Rev: 2
Type: Processor ANSI SCSI revision: 02

So there she is sitting at Id: 08, (should I mention that a certain other
Os could see it fine, nah just ignore that little bait!).

So, we've tried

  # mount -t iso9660 /dev/sdi /mnt/cdrom
mount: /dev/sdi is not a valid block device

etc etc for all other sd? devices.

  # mknod scd0 b 11 8
  # mount -t iso9660 /dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom
mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/scd0 as a block device

Hmmm, ok perhaps we have to pull the cd-rom out and drop the scsi down
below 7.
