[SLUG] network failure

I'm having a strange intermittent ethernet failure. I've changed the NIC,
the cables and the hub port, but it persists.

Symptoms: RH6 box is permenently connected to the 'net by modem and works
fine. This box is connected to the rest of a mixed LAN via ethernet (4
Macs, 1 NT, 1 Win98, 1 other Linux). When the problem occurs, the
RH6 box disconnects from the rest of the LAN, although all the
other machines can see each other. The modem connection is not effected.

To fix the problem, I do: /etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart
Then everything is ok till the next time (usually a few days).

Any one got any thoughts? ifconfig and route output below.

TIA, David.
