Not Linux per se, but under Windows they are not entirely faultless. Removing 
the card still allows a few seconds of use, and you can still use the computer 
for a while without inserting the card. Of course, there is nothing stopping 
anyone booting to DOS and deleting the vxd used by the card then running 
windows again.
