Personally, I'd want it to avoid the microsoft tax.

Included in the PC cost is a percentage going to M$ for their crappy
operating system. requesting a system with Linux preinstalled means M$
doesn't get any of my money.

That's not the point - I invariably reconfigure _every_ machine I get to
my own requirements anyway - the point is that I don't want to pay for
useless {and unused} copies of M$ products.
