It's not exposed, but it just seems nicer to me having a small device
plugged into a network, rather than having to buy a separate computer as
the capture device... (We can use an existing server to hold the data.)

Not IR - low-light and night-time. (But using IR might be an option,
if it doesn't change the behaviour of the animals.)

That might be the way to go, I'll check out all the pointers for places
to buy cameras.
