This comes up every now and then. The reason is that plenty of people
post to the list, legimately, without being subscribed to it.

Some even read the list via the archive(s).

The spam is infrequent; I'm sure some of us have the ability to deal
with spam -- unfortunately by the time this gets to me all the useful
headers have been stripped from the message.
