Unless things have changed signifantly recently these were the charges
as I understood them (for general uni access through ITS):

AARNET/Local: free
Domestic: 3c/meg
International 17c/meg

Therefore it would make much more sense to use mirror.aarnet for
Linux distros etc. Unfortunately the local debian mirror often lags behind
mirror.aarnet - yet another reason to give aarnet the responsibility.

A Linux users soc is a very good idea though. The computer science
department may be terribly run but it has many students. Some organised
attempt to bring Linux users together would be awesome.

(As opposed to csus which seems to just run Quake nights.) 

(Not that I have anything against Quake.. ;? ) 

Sydney Uni people put your hands up. Any ideas?
