There are third party (ie: unsupported by Telstra) drivers available from
www.helius.com.  Note that these are not open source and only support
certain linux distribustions.  You also need to pay to license the software.

A DAK card is a PCI card that you connect the satellite dish to.  It is
treated in Windows as a network card (using the supplied drivers) and in
linux as interface dpc0 (using helius software)
