Probably not (the status of the m68k port on the 540c is listed as "does
not boot"), but you *may* be able to run netbsd or openbsd. There are
problems with some revisions of the 68LC040 CPU used in the 540c though,
and if you have one of the bad chips you won't be able to run any of them.

If you can replace the CPU with a 68040, then you should at least be able
to get netbsd running.
