Re: [SLUG] Etherlink III card problem (Solution)

Thanks everyone for the heaps of feedback,

[re: etherlink]
I removed my untidy hack "modprobe 3c509" out of /etc/rc.d/init.d/network
and put a line into /etc/conf.modules

  alias eth0 3c509

So if you have a Etherlink III card and install either Redhat 6.2
or Mandrake 7.1, and it goes AWOL....

[re: window managers ]
I tried lwm and blackbox last night, helps a little but I think that Gnome
has to go. Tried doing this but it killed X, so how do I start X and launch
a window manager without a desktop mangler?

Ok you've caught me out faking Linux expertise, I have no idea where to
even start with doing a core debug....

Thanks

Pete
