That's quite probably more a telco problem than a problem with the modem.

I've had {unconfirmed} reports from people who claim Telstra resets long
term connections on some kind of random-timed basis - maybe your timeslot
is 22 days? :-)

A friend of mine {you out there Bob?} runs, or user to run, his ISP on a
courier - maybe he can give some idea of his longest connect times.
