[SLUG] mouse function

Suddenly my mouse won't copy and paste in X/wmaker. May I ask
three simple questions:

1. Why would this happen?

2. How do I fix it?

3. Where should I have looked to avoid having to ask on this
list. ie, where would I have found appropriate docs?

PS: the mouse works fine under gpm, so I guess it's not
hardware.
