[SLUG] LODS
Dear All,
I'm trying to resurrect some old 386s at my son's school - hoping to use
them as single floppy X terminals using LODS with VNC.
Downloaded the floppy image (lods.img) from the LODS site:
http://home.rochester.rr.com/specht/lods/index.html
but am having great difficulty writing the floppy image to a disk.
Tried:
dd if=PATH_AND_NAME_OF_IMAGE_FILE of=/dev/fd0
Things hum for a while then Linux says I'm out of disk space (or
something like that - can't recall the exact message).
Then tried rawrite.exe on a DOS machine and it gives me a 'bad sector'
error.
Swapped machines, so it isn't hardware, swapped floppy disks so I doubt
it's that either. Thought there might have been a download error so I
downloaded the file again - same deal when trying to write.
This is supposed to be a floppy image - any ideas why it won't write to
a floppy?
Anyone else using or used LODS? Curious to hear your experience.
Thanks,
Gregg
