It's so alien to the corporate culture. But we're working on them! :-)
As usual, the engineers `get it', but the bosses take a lot more
convincing.
BTW, when I polled this list asking for people who knew of companies
actively developing printer drivers for *their* printers, no one came
up with anything. So I did what I could with the meagre and
unimpressive facts I could find, but *that* line of approach died.

I know what you mean. But you'll find that they are basically new
printers and variants of printers. They really do work hard on the
technology and bringing new models to market.
When they release Linux drivers, I'll even buy a Canon colour printer
for home. Likewise with the digital cameras.
