So.
I'm in the market for a new television at my new house. It'll mostly
have my Wii ( supports edtv/480p over composite ) hooked up to it, and
I have no interest in proper HDTV content.
I'd like to get a TV that supports 480p, but I don't want to pay the
buck$ for HDTV resolutions I will never use. Before, I used a
converter box to translate the EDTV composite signal into vga, and
displayed it on a monitor, but the box being cheap and nasty can't
handle standard television signals, and so can't display quite a few
games from Virtual Console, or any of my gamecube titles ( as the pal
region gamecube stuff only supports 50/60hz pal ).
Does anyone know if plain-jane EDTV sets are available in Australia,
or will I have to front the cash for full "glorious" HDTV?
Bryn.
