Rupert,

I am neither a GNU nor a Linux advocate, but I will nonetheless do my
best to explain the principles of hard drive recovery using Linux to
you if you want to drop by the ProgSoc room sometime with your hard
drive. Can't be in the next two weeks though as it's my exam period.
And in two weeks' time, if you're anything like me - and who isn't -
you will have cut your losses and reformatted / thrown the drive. Oh
well. :-)
