[ProgSoc] Old Macintosh

Hi,

does anyone know anything about Macintoshes? I have been offered a
Macintosh Power PC running OS ver 7.5 for $50.

My main question is : Can I hook it up to a network based on
co-axial cables and BNC connections ? Is there some hardware
item that will do this for me ?

My next question is : Is it possible to run some variety of Linux
on it ? is there an (almost) free version of Linux available that
will run on it. I don't mind if it's an old version of Linux as the
machine will be behind a firewall and on a network (provided there is
an answer to Question 1)

cheers,

Bernard
