You can actually tell where sound is coming from with just one ear. All
you need is a ear lobe. Your brain is clever enough (for most ppl) to work
out which direction from the little tiny difference that refelect off your
ear lobe.

Some other clever boffins did an experement where they blocked up one ear
and the tested both with the ear lobe cememted out, (leaving the hole open
of course) and by itself.

The people being tested found when they had a block of cement for an ear
lobe they acuracy in guessing which direction the sound came from decrease
dramatically when they had just one perfectatly function ear lobe.
