Already been said, but he was more an anarchist. He fought alongside the
Spanish anarchists in their civil war. Some of the essays of his I've read
are fiercely anti-communist. (Another interesting point he raised was that
the dominant weapon of an age determines the level of individual freedom -
if the weapon is cheap and available, u get freedom (like the gun during
american colonial/civil war times); if the weapon is expensive and
difficult to make (atom bomb, cannon/gun b4 indusrtialisation), u get less
freedom. Would be interesting to see his view on information as a weapon)
