Probably because they all have to pay Telstra a rental fee for the
cupboard they place their head-end gear in  :)

Any word on some kind of unlimited-download plan out there that goes
beyond 56k ??

I don't mind if they choke the bandwidth, say, if a daily or weekly limit
is exceeded.  (Monthly would suck).
