The blue ones with the Russian cover was the Third Edition, from
memory. My first redesign.
The cover is a 1920s Soviet information poster, equating illiteracy
with blindness, encouraging the peasantry to educate themselves and
become their own masters.
There were two red ones before it, plus of course the original Sun
User Guide, which ended up an ITD thing. That's why the main tex file
of TFM is still called sug.tex
I still have one copy of each edition I edited, plus the one before
it, in one of the many boxes I never unpacked when I last moved,
about three years ago - I saw them all about a month ago when I
wanted something from that box. Maybe we should finally get around to
doing the history of TFM on the web.
Speaking of which, I'm *still* the owner [kaleid] of the TFM & WebTFM
files sitting in /data (or wherever...) - could some admin chown it
to root? Ta.
