Hi,
I'm running a mandrake release of Linux (can't
remember the version 6.x I think).
It's using glibc 2.1.1, I want to
upgrade this to 2.2.4 (the latest glibc).
I've never upgraded glibc before - because
everything relies upon it and I didn't really understand it.
I still don't really, hence this
email.
1. Is compiling this trivial or
complex?
2. Are the releases backwards compatible -
i.e., will I have to recompile every program I have or not?
3. Are there any things I should watch out
for.
I know there are heaps of people who pay homage to
the penguin out there, so any help would be appreciated.
