If they're Trinitron or equivalent, that boosts the value by about double
or more. As new, you're pushing it to find any under $2000. YMMV, I
haven't checked the marketplace for some time.
But I encourage everyone (especially students with free Wednesday mornings
and schedules like that) to spend a couple of weeks going round to auction
houses just to see how they operate. Typically a 21" monitor will become
the centrepiece of attention and the other gear will sit there for years
waiting to get flogged (or more likely, filling up the empty space).
