[ProgSoc] Delphi .. Intellectual Property .. OLE .. all sorts of stuff
Hey,
Couple of unrelated questions.
1) I'm trying to get an idea of the skill and availability of VB
programmers in the market place compared to the skill and availability of
Delphi programmers. I'd like people's opinions/anecdotes, no matter how
subjective (or objective).
2) Theoretical scenario - Intellectual Property. Say that as an employee
of a company, I become in negotiations with another (external) company
regarding a public tender for some software development, contract work,
whatever. As an aside, the 'other' company happens to mention some
completely unrelated software development/contract work that they need
done (yet to be opened to the public for tender). Can I then approach the
external company _as an individual_ and offer to do the work? Pretty
obscure question I know ...
3) Same question I asked the other day - Visual Basic - I stick an OLE
object on the form as an Excel Worksheet. It automatically shows 6
columns and 20 rows (actual numbers depend on the height n width of the
component). I can modify the number of rows and columns at design time,
but I reeeeaaally need to be able to do it at run time. Help anyone?
4) I've never touched Lotus Notes (as a development environment) before in
my life. Can someone gimme 4 or 5 lines on it's strengths and weaknesses
in regards to networking, data access, flexibility, language structure,
that sorta thing?
Yer all champions,
gleNN
