Check out www.smsmebaby.com it allows you to send SMS to any Australian
GSM carrier.  You can send an email by sending to the
following:  MOBILE_NUMBER@nospam.smsmebaby.com where MOBILE_NUMBER is the mobile
number of the person you want to send the message to. You can send to any
number you like without you or the other party having to  register
(looks like a bug in their system, so abuse while you can).

There is also www.mobilealert.com.au but you can only send to registered
users only.

Also there is: www.automatic.com.au , new but you need to visit their
site to retrieve the message.
