They're pretty small. 128MB would be enough if the thingy used switchable
cards. Some new MP3 players coming have 32MB inbuilt + use 32MB swappable
cards or 40MB Clik disks. The big problem is that the stupid things stil
use the damn parallel port for copying to and from. Surely this is what
USB was invented for? They don't even have the option... yet.

As soon as you can swap large enough volumes, it will be. The advantage
of MP3 players is that with no moving parts it can not jump or skip and
the battery life is longer.
