[ProgSoc] Digital TV test transmissions

Channel 9 is beginning its Sydney transmissions for digital MPEG-2 testing
tomorrow, on the frequency which would otherwise be known as Channel 8.

I've got a decoder, and it's got all the requisite bits for QAM demuxing
etc etc, but the real shame is that its RF tuner only goes down as far as
900MHz (and up to 2GHz) because it's designed for C-band and Ku-band
birds. I think Channel 8, in VHF, is down around 200MHz somewhere.

Does anyone have the equipment to view the transmissions? I'd be
interested to see it, eg, how it copes with a bad antenna, if there are
any issues with carrier ghosting in built-up areas, etc.

CK.
