Because Progsoc is oriented around networking operating systems for the
obvious reason that the only method of public access that we have is via
the network. If we could get hold of a room to setup a lab full of consoles
then the story would be different.
The Wintel platform has only recently got to the point where it can even
slightly be considered a network operating system and even now it is highly
oriented toward a user working at a console.
