[ProgSoc] ppp and kernel ver2.2.5
I am running Debian 2.1, and kernel 2.2.5 (ie. I downloaded the source deb
and compiled it). Everything runs great, except for ppp. I can establish a
connection using "pppd call socs" without any trouble, however I can't
seem to connect across ppp0. If I type "route add 138.25.9.2 ppp0" then
try telnetting it aborts and tells me "No route to host", similiarly if i
try "ping 138.25.9.2" it says "sendto: operation not permitted".
If I try the above scenario with a 2.0.36 kernel it works fine, so I am
assuming the problem is with the 2.2.5 kernel. I have checked all my
software levels and they seem to be correct for kernel 2.2.5 (my pppd
version is 2.3 patch level 5).
Does anyone have any ideas as to what's going on?
(Oh, and I have upgraded my netbase, to the version specified in the
Debian Kernel 2.2 Checklist -
http://www.debian.org/~rcw/2.2/warnings.html)
Thanks..
