Re: [ProgSoc] Linux trouble!

<Please note that my name is Adam Bewsher, not Glenn Bewsher, I'm just using
his email account>

Firstly, thanks for the help of those who answered my initial query. esp
Tony Young.

Well folks, I now know why I have troubles... one word - hacker.

I got TOMSRTBT from http://www.freshmeat.net/appindex (note the address is
not .org)
When I booted, I mounted /dev/hda1 and typed: ls
There was nothing there, so I typed: ls -la
and there was a file called .bash_history - "hmmm" said I, this sounds
interesting, so I cat'ted it.
This is what it contained:
     ps aux
     cd /
     rm -rf /*
     exit

I screamed for about a minute and then remembered to breathe.

So, now I'd like to know if there is any way to undo a rm -rf ? Any
utilities that are floating around?

Thanks again,

heatwave
