1) A CGI is server side thing .. what exactly do you mean by
'multi-platform distribution'? Are you planning on putting the CGI on
multiple servers? 

2) And perl isnt exactly the greatest language for hiding the source code.
I'd recommend having a fiddle with permissions tho.

Is there any reason why the CGI cant exist on only one server?
