there is a fsck for fat filesystems around somewhere, dont know how
good a job it will do with two screwed FATs tho. mind you, you will
need to run it under linux. if you go this route i would suggest that
you make a complete copy of the drive before doing anything else. oh
and run it with the "dont change anything" option first try.
