I was looking into cheap permanent links a while ago, and the cheapest at
the time was cia.com.au (around 95$ per month). But now they have incrased
it to about $195.

Still, there is a good connection alterantive for the people in within a
few kilometers from them (Ultimo) - using PALP - or direct wire connection
between you and them - which Telstra quoted $100 for each endpoint of a
PALP link when I asked. You can get something like 2G on those links - and
they're not time charged.

STILL, if someone comes to a reasonable priced offer - I am very
interested too in a permanent modem link conection, so please let me know 
too.
