[ProgSoc] changing cgi url

if I have a cgi script that accepts a username and password (method=get) 
how do I have the script change its url to contain a crypted version of
the password? 

i.e. from cgi-bin/hostname?name=marauder&pass=wonk to
cgi-bin/hostname?name=marauder&pass=37fcteXJvhzKw
