[ProgSoc] JDK Linux - Javac not working
heya...
I am in the midst of attempting to test a JAVA application that was
developed in JBuilder on a Linux Box. I download and installed JDK 1.1.6
for Linux from the Progsoc ftp page. I configured my PATH correctly
(well, I think I did) as well as my CLASSPATH and my JAVA_HOME.
Now, I have written a quick hello-world program and when I type javac or
javac helloworld.java, I get the following error:
javac was not found in /usr/local/jdk1.1.6/bin/i486/green_threads/javac
I know that javac is in bin and that is where I have set my path to look
for it. However, it is linked to a script called .java_wrapper and I
suspect this may be a part of the problem.
Has ANYONE come over this problem when installing the JDK on a Linux Box
and if so, how do I fix it ???
Thanks in advance!!!
