Are they definitely in the format:

<mindless number>.<another mindless number>@nospam.compuserve.com?

Eg.  Their CompuServe id may be 123456,1234 which translates to
123456.1234@nospam.compuserve.com.  Note the . instead of the ,

If this ain't your problem, you're on your own!
