I was thinking about the input problem, and came up with the idea of using
a trackball to change pitch, nudge, do ewverything else. Are those large
trackballs still round these days? i.e. the ones you'd use with your
commodore 64?

With some practice, a trackball could control both pitch and crossfading -
i.e. up and down for pitch, left and right for X-fading. Otherwise u'd
need some other sort of large, easy-to-use,
easy-to-see-thru-the-smoke-machine-smoke control for this.

Cheers,
