}Why not blame the people who are actually responsible for these things
}happening? .. How about the idiots who print out ten copies of a web page
just
}'coz they don't believe that clicking on the "print" button once will
print
}the page? .. How about the people wasting paper by printing out 20 copies
of
}an advertisement because they want to sell their car?
on that note, who is responsible for user education at UTS?
these S4Bs haven't a clue that what they do is wrong? (yeah, like they read
signs)
or just limit printing by use of printing cards (i just happen to know of a
company specialising in smartcard solutions :)
}We're students too, so we have to put up with these
}limitations as well as you.
but at least you have all those funky stress-relief toys to tide you over
:)
}That UTS should provide unlimited web access for educational purposes? ..
The
}faculties whos students require it for their course do - School of
computing
}science, engineering... There are labs open 24hours and everyday, if you
}can't use those then get an ISP.
<counter whinge>
now hang on, check your facts.....compsci may have heaps of labs, but
engineering 24hr labs are for RESTRICTED ACCESS ONLY....unless i am given a
PIN, there are no eng computers to use.
we are only given access if we do certain subjects, and even then it's not
as good as compsci
i'll tell you who're the spoilt brats.....
</counter whinge>
}It's quite possible by 'University of Technology' they are also talking
}more about the content of the course rather than the resources it provides
}to their students.
hmmm i'd say that in that respect UTS is far _worse_ than the computing
resources.
most of the courses are a joke....ask the students
so what have we resolved from all this "discussion"? that ITD RC is just as
frustrated with the state of UTS computing facilities as the rest of
us?
and that ear bashing them will do no good?
so who should we voice our concerns to? and will it do any good at all?
