Mmmm. One wonders if a separate list similar to alt.hacker should be set
up, where each posting must be accompanied by an Obligatory Hack (aka
ObHack). Every time you want to comment, or whatever, about something
which is not directly programming/computer hard/software related, perhaps
you should be obligated to include some little titbit of knowledge
gleaned from somewhere or other that you found useful. Call it an ObSoc?
[Resource Centre et al]
Generally I'm sure Resource Centre staff cop a lot from students since
they are a visible target. I've copped some in reverse when I was at UTS
with sheer arrogance and rudeness from Resource Centre staff. Maybe
they'd had a bad day. Not really an excuse, but hey, we all have those.
Not sure what my point is, except maybe that people should use
contructive criticism instead of whinging?

UTS students do have it pretty good. There are quite a lot of computers
available, though you can't always get one, and ITD are generally more
tolerant of misbehaviour than the IT person at UniSA. There are a lot of
improvements that could be made (though plead with them not to replace
pine with Exchange, as happened here.) but things work pretty fine as is.
I never had much trouble getting assignments done on ITD equipment, and
that's what they're for.

Isn't tech support fun? ;)
