[ProgSoc] Extra dot appended

In that last mail I sent (regarding the email forwarding), I named the
.forward file.

When I typed it, I only put a single dot (.) in front of the word
'forward', but the final copy that everyone received had an extra dot.

Demo:
Typed with single dot (.):
.forward
Typed with 2 dots (..):
..forward
Experiment:
.ploppy

I guess some server somewhere likes to append dots. Just out of
interest, does anyone know what does it and why?

Nope, it works perfect. Unix must be smart enough (read programmed well
enough) to know what we intend.
