The "you get what you pay for" argument does appear slightly flawed. It
doesn't have to be this way, you know. But that's not the point. Rather,
what I think members should look out for is who (or which group of people)
would organise progsoc and run the machines the way I'd most like them
run. Then vote accordingly. This is the basic essence of representative
democracy, and I'm surprised I'd need to point that out to Uni students :)
Chi has a point in that there are scare tactics being used against him,
although I don't believe it's entirely malicious. But if the membership
want to vote for a person without the current admins' contacts (not that
you need them with the Union... just tell them you'll have a free BBQ)
then this is the membership's choice.

Why can't a machine be administered by a committee? I admit that
committees aren't true democracy, but it's closer than managing by fiat.
