It is made over here, under license in South Australia. Alledgedly it has
less caffeine than the ``real thing'' (i.e. that which is made in the US),
you'd need to verify this though.

In any case, 711 in Newtown carries not only the locally produced cans,
but bottles imported from the US (by the Australian manufacturer, no
less: does that in any way temper the low caffeine belief above ?).
When I first stumbled upon it, the checkout-chump made a very
concentrated examination of the bottle after which he said, in a
curious matter of fact way, "this has been fairly popular".

The imported bottles are the ``real thing'', complete with stenciled
lettering, indication of which (US) states deposit is refunded on, and
appended ``imported by'' sticker. Either $2.15, $2.25 or $2.35 a bottle
(they shifted the price up a fraction at one stage) -- they're about
375ml (9fl.ounces ?).

Caffeine-Content-Hint: Not sure if it was mere co-incidence, but
consequent to buying and consuming a bottle of the elixir at 3am in
the morning, I had trouble getting to sleep!

Spirit-Mix-Hint: I can only attest to mixing with Sambuca, but
reportedly it goes great with scotch (that's from an expert! :-).

It's just one of those drinks you have to try if only to be able to say
that you have tried it.
