How about beating some first year into running for sechetary or
something?

Making up a position for a first year could be fine and dandy, just
for it to be at serious someone needs to document exactly what the
role of the thing would be and if necessary draft a new paragraph for
the constitution (For the special meeting next month or whatever...).

Another thing though, isn't every single member of progsoc that's a
first year a first year representative?

With progsoc especially it's amazingly easy to discuss things/vent
opinions since all of the membership is accessible via electronic
mail. This makes the society potentially much more accountable
than most other groups in society.

Since I've ranted this long I might as well keep on going... I've
often heard people mention that progsoc never does anything. What
this is saying to me is that they (as members) can't be bothered
doing anything. I've always thought of progsoc being about letting the
members do stuff rather than doing things for the members.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think any progsoc executive has ever
stood in the way of people wanting to do something. At least I've
never seen anyone complain about it on a progsoc list....
